Also referred to as “modern calligraphy,” hand-lettering or brush lettering is a popular form of writing seen around DIY projects on Pinterest and Instagram. It has a more whimsical, loose feel than standard fountain pen calligraphy and is popularly used for wedding invitations, thank-you cards, place-settings, etc.

Join us for a workshop to learn the basics of hand lettering and more. We will move from manipulating the pens to the basic brush lettering script alphabet. The class will also address letter connections and basic flourishes. Plus, you will learn some tricks of the trade to practice smarter, not harder!

Supplies: All supplies are included. Each participant will receive three pens and tracing paper to keep practicing at home.

This class will teach you ways to jazz up your weaving projects. We will cover adding sequins, beads, and baubles, fabric, draping, “finger knitting” and stitching and what I like to call “worry ropes.” There is no limit to what you can do!

35$ will include yarn, and additions. Feel free to bring your own objects you’d like to incorporate.

Basic weaving knowledge is required (tabby or simple over/under stitch). Bring your own small frame loom. If you do not have a loom, you may purchase one for an additional 10$ (let me know a week ahead) or I can point you in the direction of where to get a loom suitable for the class.

Fearless: 10 Simple Mindfulness Tools

Saturday | February 24th | 10:00 am – 12:00 pm | $21.83

https://www.facebook.com/events/162062611103470/

Ever wish you could turn off your brain? There is so much demanding our attention these days and it seems we deal with an endless mind chatter that surrounds us all day long! We have ever-growing to-do lists, oodles of social media to keep up with and no time to “just be”.

This kind of living is creating a society that is constantly stressed and full of anxiety.

It is time to stop this destructive cycle and free yourself from the re-active state you are living from. Studies show that mindfulness and certain meditation techniques increase serotonin (the happy hormone), which decreases anxiety and depression!

Participants can expect to receive tools and interactive experiential exercises to support living from the present moment of mindfulness. This workshop will guide you to:

– Understand your fears and anxiety so that they no longer control you
– Discover how you can become the master of your thoughts by creating an easy daily mindfulness practice
– Learn tools to live more in the present moment so that you can experience more peace
– Reprogram negative thinking and create a joyful life full of freedom and bliss
– Bring awareness to being a responder rather than a re-actor to life by being anchored in your power of choice

Wednesday | February 28th | 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm | $22

https://www.facebook.com/events/1978388755758574/

Not quite sure what to do with your Instant Pot? Afraid you’ll end up with a (literally) hot mess in your kitchen? Instant Pot 101 will calm your nerves with a quick rundown of the parts of your Instant Pot, review of basic Instant Pot techniques, and three recipe demos (audience participation encouraged!). We’ll make creamy chicken soup then we’ll make some rice to add to it, and we’ll finish off our meal with Instant Pot apple crisp. Bring your Instant Pot questions and if Mary doesn’t have the answer, she’ll get it for you! Handouts of basic cook times and techniques will be provided. Please note: this class is not sponsored by Instant Pot. Mary just really loves her Instant Pot and wants to help others learn to love theirs too!
